Wedding Day Handbag Tips

One of the most frequently asked question from brides is:

“What do I put in my handbag on my wedding day?”

The main products I recommend for a bride to have on her wedding day include:

  • Perfume: I love scent. I think it can evoke emotions and bring back important memories when you smell certain scents. I wanted a special perfume for my wedding that would remind me of my special day every time I smelt it. It is nice to have a different scent to your everyday scent. I chose Le Labo Noir 29 and its one of my favourite perfumes now.

  • Powder: I am a shiny t zone kind of gal so I wanted to have my powder with me. More as a comfort than anything. I only used it once before the meal when we were waiting to be called in but just knowing I had it gave me an extra reassurance I wouldn’t be looking like a shiny grease ball. My favourite is Charlotte Tilbury airbrush powder in shade 1. It gives a gorgeous blurring effect to the skin. Alternatively, you could use blotting paper. Something I often recommend to my brides if they are prone to shiny skin.

  • Lips: This is the one area that will fade as the day goes on. You are chatting, eating, drinking so naturally your lipstick/gloss/tint/balm will start to fade. I chose products that felt close to my natural lip so I wasn’t conscious if it did start to wear off. It just felt and looked a lot more natural. I used Charlotte Tilbury lip liner in pillow talk medium, Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk lipstick and popped Hourglass volumizing lip gloss in shade Mist on top.

  • Setting Spray: a great alternative to powder and great for all skin types is a setting spray. It just freshens up the makeup and brings it back to life so you can party the day and night away. I used Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray in travel size for mine.

Ultimately it is up to you what you have in your bag. I also had a gorgeous pair of sunglasses (wishful thinking) and a crystal (blue) from my bridesmaids which was super special. Let me know if there is anything I am missing?
